BIO

As a director, I have come to specialize in collaborating with performers on developing their original works. These artists include Julie Atlas Muz, Ed Hamell (winning the Herald Award at the Edinburgh Festival 2007), and the World Famous *Bob* among others. I also direct my own conceived works such as The Hive, an aerial play about honeybee depopulation, created in 2012.

My first effort as a filmmaker was a documentary about the musician Ed Hamell, which grew out of my work with Ed on his one-man show. Rant and Roll, was completed in spring 2008.

As a producer, I am the creator of the seminal burlesque show The Va Va Voom Room 1997-2005 as well its emcee Miss Astrid. Besides having the first bicoastal burlesque show ever (running weekly in NYC and San Francisco), Miss Astrid and The Va Va Voom Room have performed all over Europe and the U.S. including the annual productions of The New York Burlesque Festival and the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

As an actress, I am best known for my character-based comedy performances in the downtown NY scene, particularly the ridiculously deadpan Austrian Mistress of Ceremonies character, Miss Astrid. While I love comedy and experimental theatre, I am also interested in more traditional forms. In fact, I am interested in almost any way we use theatre play to understand ourselves.
